Biography

Yashua Klos (b. 1977) is a visual artist best known for his innovative large-scale collage works which address issues of identity, race, memory, and community. Klos was born in Chicago, Illinois, where he grew up on Chicago’s South Side. In 2000, he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Northern Illinois University. Klos then studied abroad in France, where he investigated Renaissance painting techniques at L’Atelier Neo Medici in 2002. By 2009, he earned a Masters of Fine Arts at Hunter College. Klos has exhibited his work in group and solo shows at a range of galleries and institutions including, UTA Artist Space, The International Print Center, The Studio Museum, and more.
