Biography

Nate Lewis was born in 1985 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He earned a BSN in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, and worked as a registered nurse in intensive care, stroke, and surgical recovery units for 9 years. In 2009, Lewis began studying violin, and in 2010, began pursuing visual art. Lewis is self-taught, and his work is Inspired by the imagery of anatomy and disease. In 2017, he was awarded an artist residency at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn. Lewis is based in both NYC and Washington DC.
