Biography

Didier William was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in 1983 and grew up in Miami, Florida. He earned a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2007 and an MFA from Yale University in 2009. He has taught at Columbia University, Vassar College, Yale School of Art, and SUNY Purchase, and is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the MFA program at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. He has exhibited at the Bronx Museum of Art, The Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, The Fraenkel Gallery, Frederick and Freiser Gallery, Gallery Schuster in Berlin, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Anna Zorina Gallery, and James Fuentes Gallery among others. In 2018, he was awarded the Rosenthal Family Foundation Award in Art.
