Biography

Bernard Harmon was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1935. He graduated from the Philadelphia Museum School and Tyler School of Art. He taught art and mentored students in the Philadelphia School District for 32 years. Harmon was an avid supporter of the arts and befriended numerous other African American artists including Selma Burke, Dox Thrash, Paul Keene, and Charles Searles. Harmon died at the age of 54.
