Biography

Florine Démosthène was born in the United States and raised between Port-au-Prince, Haiti and New York. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Hunter College-City University of New York in 2002. She has exhibited nationally and internationally in the Caribbean, UK, Europe, and Africa. She is the recipient of a Tulsa Artist Fellowship, Arts Moves Africa Grant, and a Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant and has participated in numerous residencies in the USA, UK, Slovakia, Ghana, and Tanzania.
